Flag-raising ceremony for ABG5 organized

DANANG - A flag-raising ceremony for the 5^th Asian Beach Games (ABG5) took place on September 22^nd in the presence of representatives of ABG5’s organizing panel and athletes, coaches from 42 countries and territories.

To better serve the big sporting event, Da Nang city completed the preparation work and facilities as well as ensured security at the competition venues. The city also organized support programs and services for guests and participating delegations.

ABG5 is scheduled to run from September 24 to October 3 in Da Nang with 14 sport events, where athletes will compete in 22 categories for 172 sets of medals. The games are expected to draw 10,000 people, including 3,100 athletes and 1,500 coaches and officials, 550 technical experts and international referees and 900 domestic referees, over 1,500 volunteers and about 600 domestic and international reporters.

ABG5 is also an opportunity to popularize the city’s landscapes and people to international friends.
