Hue to put 10 more eclectric cars into operation
Thua Thien Hue province will add 10 more electric cars to better serve domestic and international passengers on the 27 routes in the southern bank of the Huong river from August 23.
On August 22 afternoon, the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People’s Committee announced Decision No.4933/UBND-GT on expanding the electric car operation for tourists in the southern bank of the Huong river.
Accordingly, there will be 10 additional electric cars operating on the 27 lines in the southern bank of the Huong river, such as Tu Duc tomb, Tu Hieu pagoda, Thien Mu pagoda, the Ho Chi Minh memorial hall on Mai Thuc Loan street, Dong Ba market and other ecotourism and retreat sites.
Earlier, electric cars mainly operated at tourist attractions in the northern part of the Huong river.
A representative of the electric car operation unit said that, to serve domestic and international tourists and ensure traffic safety, the unit has regulated that drivers are not allowed to run over 25km/hour.
Reportedly, the expansion of the electric car operation is part of the public passenger transport network development plan in Thua Thien Hue province by 2020, with a vision toward 2030, approved by the Thua Thien Hue Provincial People's Committee.
