Xe Dang ethnic group holds New rice festival
PSNews – The new rice festival is considered one of the most important festivals of the Xe Dang ethnic group, which is often organized on the first day of New Year with the aim of praying for good weather, bumper crops, prosperity and happiness.
Visiting KonHring hamlet, Ea Ding commune, Cu Mgar district, Dak Lak province on this day, you will immerse in an exciting and joyful atmosphere and enjoy a unique traditional gong performance in the middle of high mountains and thick forests.
The new rice festival is annual activity of the Xe Dang ethnic group which has been preserved by and handed down through generations. This festival means so much to the locals and helps strengthen solidarity among dwellers of the villages.
As usual, the Youth Organization of the Ethnic Security Division of the Dak Lak Provincial Police in collaboration with the Women’s Union organization of the Central Highlands Security Department (A90) and the Cu Mgar District Police present many meaningful gifts to people of the Xe Dang ethnic group to celebrate festival and welcome spring season.
This year, 1000 presents were handed over to local children and households in Kon Hring hamlet. These gifts include rice, cooking oil, noodles, candies. In addition, 6 needy students were offered bicycle for their outstanding school records in 2016.
