Stamps set on sea and islands to be issued every two years
The Ministry of Information and Communications has decided to issue a special stamp set on Vietnamese sea and islands every two years starting from 2018.

The move aims to further disseminate and raise the awareness of officials, soldiers and people of the role and position of the Vietnamese sea and islands in the cause of national construction and defence.
Accordingly, the first stamp set on sea creatures is scheduled to be issued this month at the Vietnam Naval Academy in Nha Trang city, in the central province of Khanh Hoa.
Meanwhile the second and third sets, featuring the Vietnamese coast guard and marine endemic species, will be introduced in 2020 and 2022, respectively.
In addition, the Vietnam Post Corporation (VietnamPost) is planning make the stamp sets available throughout its network in 63 cities and provinces across the country.
Furthermore, VietnamPost will organise an auction of an oil painting of the original design of the stamp set on sea creatures.
All proceeds from the sale will be donated to the officers, soldiers and people who are on duty in the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago.
