PSNews–The first-ever United Kingdom (UK) InspireMeFestival, which took place from November 9 to 11, was seen as the heart of the Inspire Me 2018 series of events with various cultural activities.
UK’s InspireMe Festival was co-held by the British Embassy in Vietnam and the Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee.

“Innovation”, “Gender Equality”, and “Say No to Disposable Plastic Products” were the three main themes of the festival, which comprised of 56 booths of British enterprises operating in the fields of culture, education, science-technology, fashion and trade.

British Ambassador to Vietnam Gareth Ward impressed people with his ability to speak Vietnamese fluently.
He said that this was the first time the UK’s InspireMe Festival had been held in Vietnam to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Vietnam-UK diplomatic ties and 25 years of the British Council in Vietnam.

At UK’s InspireMe Festival, in addition to the booths introducing products of British enterprises, there were many other exciting activities such as outdoor fashion show, singing contest, etc.

One of the most impressive activity of the festival was the “Aodai” fashion show at the opening ceremony which was inspired by the symbols of the United Kingdom.
All models performed at the show are staff members working at the British Embassy in Vietnam and their children.

British Fashion Show was also the first outdoor show held in the heart of Hanoi – Dong KinhNghiaThuc Square, with collections from famous British fashion brands.

In the framework of the festival, there was also an area imitating the natural environment in order to raise the awareness of people on environment and wildlife protection.

Visitors were able to learn about the wildlife as well as the importance of protecting nature and preserving the green environment.

UK’s InspireMe Festival was not only a cultural event but was also an opportunity to tighten the solidarity between the Vietnamese people and international friends in general and the British people in particular.
