Vietnam - Italy 2018 Fashion Week kicks off in Hanoi

PSNews - The Vietnam - Italy 2018 Fashion Week with the participation of famous Italy designer Michele Gaudiomonte is taking place from March 14 to 19, as part of the activities to mark 45 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries.

The fashion week features collections from famous Vietnamese and Italian designers

18 Vietnamese and Italian designers will introduce their unique collections in the event "Sustainability."

"Sustainability" is also the theme that Italian Embassy has in Vietnam chosen for a series of events to celebrate the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, starting with a concert to be take place on March 16 in Hanoi.

At a press conference held on March 14, the Italian Ambassador to Vietnam Cecilia Piccioni said, all Autumn-Winter collections to be showed at the event are made of silk, a precious material symbolizing the sustainable relations and creative exchange between Vietnam and Italy.

Besides, the fashion week, there will also be a demonstration of the process of making Vietnamese traditional silk.

The traditional silk weaving process will be demonstrated at the exhibition by silk artisans and workers from famous silk trademarks Thai Lam Silk - Nha Xa, Vietsilk, Silky Vietnam and Baoloc Silk in Hanoi and Bao Loc.
