Lotus flowers to shine at Vietnamese Ethnic Groups’ Culture Day
Thousands of fresh lotus flowers will be used for the exhibition "Lotus in Vietnamese cultural life" as part of the Vietnamese Ethnic Groups’ Culture Day 2022.
The Vietnamese Ethnic Groups’ Culture Day 2022 will take place on April 19 at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi’s suburban Son Tay township.
This annual event is held to honor the cultural values of ethnic groups and to pay tribute to Vietnam’s cultural diversity.
As part of the celebration, a lotus area will be decorated with thousands of fresh lotus flowers from Hue Imperial City and the Mekong River province of Dong Thap, known as the lotus kingdom, and will include artificial lotus flowers made of environmentally friendly materials.
An Ao dai fashion show with a lotus-based theme will be held.
According to the organizers, on display will be 100 photos of lotus flowers selected from more than 500 taken by the collector and record holder Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, Director of the Fund to Support the Conservation of Vietnamese Cultural Heritage.
