Miss Tourism Vietnam 2022 revealed
PSNews - Vietnam has found its new Miss Tourism in 14 years. Luong Ky Duyen, 22, of Thai Binh province, beat 34 other candidates to win this tittle which concluded on the resort island of Phu Quoc on November 13.
Standing at a height of 1.72 metres with body measurements of 77-62-91, the student from the Academy of Journalism and Communication showcased great skills on stage and put on an excellent performance in the Q&A part, winning thunderous applause from the jury and spectators.
Ky Duyen received a crown and a cash prize of VND300 million (US$12,110) for winning the competition. Earlier, she participated in a beauty pageant for university students in 2020 and also won several prizes in her studies and played for the national chess team.
The organisers also presented awards to first and second runners-up, and winners of sub-competitions including Miss Talent, Miss Ao Dai, Miss Top Model, and Miss Beach Beauty, among others.
Launched in July, the competition has attracted thousands of contestants aged between 18 and 28 from across the country. During the grand finale, the Top 35 competed in different categories, such as Ao Dai (traditional long dress), evening gown, and swimsuit contests.
The beauty contest, the second of its kind, aims to find beautiful women who are able to spread positive messages about the country, both locally and internationally.
Duyen’s crowning also ended 35-year-old Phan Thi Ngoc Diem’s 14-year reign since the first Miss Tourism Vietnam pageant was held in 2008.
