More than 230 chess players join national championship 2022
About 235 chess players from cities, provinces and units joined the National Team Chess Championships that opened in Kien Giang province on March 24.
About 235 chess players from 22 cities, provinces and units joined the National Team Chess Championships that opened in Kien Giang province on March 24.
According to organizers, competitors come from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Kien Giang, Quang Ninh, Dong Nai, Can Tho, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Thai Nguyen, Ben Tre, Lam Dong, Bac Giang, Binh Duong, Ninh Binh, Binh Dinh, Thua Thien - Hue, Dong Thap, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ca Mau, Lao Cai, Hau Giang and the Vietnam People’s Army.
The tournament is annually held by the Vietnam Chess Federation, through which the best players will be chosen for the national team to compete in regional and global championships as well as honour them with the title of chess master.
They are competing for nine sets of medals in men’s, women’s and mixed doubles’ standard, rapid and blitz chess. Male and female players who are listed from the 1st – 32nd places will earn a ticket to the National Chess Championship 2023.
