The event attracted the participation of nearly 150 guests, including overseas Vietnamese and international friends from different states across the US.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Ha Kim Ngoc noted that Vietnam last year managed to secure positive economic growth and maintain social stability despite the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Given such a context, he said, Vietnam also went to great lengths to promote its comprehensive partnership with the United States across numerous fields.

He went on to hail efforts made by the overseas Vietnamese community residing in the US for overcoming multiple difficulties and uniting with their host community to address COVID-19 challenges and contribute to local socio-economic development.

On the occasion, the diplomat expressed his sincere thanks to Vietnamese people in the US, as well as American and international friends for their continued love and support to Vietnam.

He extended lunar New Year greetings to participanting delegates, wishing them happiness, good luck, and success.

In response, the newly-accredited US Ambassador to Vietnam Marc Knapper expressed his honour at returning to work in Vietnam in the role of Ambassador.

He affirmed that he will do his best to continue developing the Vietnam-US relationship, contributing to maintaining peace, security, and prosperity across the region and the wider world.
