PSNews - Perfume pagoda (chua Huong), actually a complex with a collection of temples and pagodas built amid mountains and forests in My Duc District planned to reopen on February 16 after long closure.

According to authorities of My Duc district, the locality strictly suspended the organisation of the Perfume pagoda festival during Lunar New Year. However, the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in Hanoi and in My Duc has been basically under control and assessed as safe for tourism.

Earlier, the My Duc District Party Committee submitted a proposal to the Standing Committee of the Hà Nội Party Committee and the People's Committee on the reopening and receiving guests to this national special historical relic site and landscape complex.

As announced, a specialised team will be established to evaluate and draw the experience of receiving tourists from February 16, implementing the dual goal of both effective prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic and socio-economic development.

Huong Pagoda, about 65km from the centre of Hanoi, is a famous Buddhist pagoda complex in Vietnam, boasting sacred places of worship as well as a picturesque natural landscape. The complex, built under the reign of King Le Thanh Tong (1442–1497), was destroyed by French colonialists but has been rebuilt with the support of the State, local residents and visitors.
