Shan tuyet tea: The unique gem of Tua Chua

The ancient Shan tuyet tea forest in Sin Chai Commune, Tua Chua District, Dien Bien Province currently has nearly 4,000 old tea trees. The Shan tuyet tea here is famous for its pure and delicious taste.

From March to October, when visitors come to Sin Chai commune, Tua Chua district, Dien Bien province, they will discover wild natural landscapes and experience unique customs of the local ethnic community.

Additionally, visitors will also have the opportunity to personally pick tea buds from ancient Shan Tuyet trees, while immersing in the greenness of nearly 4,000 trees. After picking tea leaves, visitors can enjoy the process of tea making and the final product.

Shan Tuyet tea made with rain water has a unique fragrance with golden green water, when first tasted it has a slight bitter taste of tea leaves, but leaves a sweet after-taste.

For a long time, Sin Chai people used manual methods to harvest, dry, and steep the tea, which was mainly consumed by the locals

To pick Shan tuyet tea buds, local people have to climb up the old and tall trees and pick fresh tea buds, one by one, and store them in a basket on their backs.
