Tra Que vegetable farming listed as national intangible cultural heritage
Tra Que vegetable farming is officially recognized as a Vietnam’s intangible cultural heritage on April 4.
The 300-year-old village, 2.5km northeast of the ancient town of Hoi An, is already popular with tourists and travel agencies, offering farming experience tours, a day working with farmers and exploring rural lifestyle.
It is famous for different herbs and typical spicy vegetables such as basil, coriander, perilla frutescens, and onion grown by traditional organic and intensive farming methods.
As the host of the National Tourism Year 2022, the central province of Quang Nam is expected to grasp the opportunity to rejuvenate its tourism sector and promote the image of Quang Nam and Vietnam in general to visitors at home and abroad.
The National Tourism Year 2022 will be held under the theme ‘Quang Nam – A green tourism destination’ with assorted activities and events, introducing the culture and tourism potentials of the central province.
The recognition of Tra Que vegetable farming as a national intangible cultural heritage is a valuable opportunity to help enhancing the village’s trade brand, contributing to Hoi An tourism restoration in the coming time.
