4 Vietnamese units receive JICA President Award
The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on January 19 released a statement saying that the 17th Annual JICA President Award has been awarded to 42 individuals and organizations to honor their contributions to socio-economic development in developing countries.
In Vietnam, this year’s JICA President Award was awarded to four Vietnamese organizations, including the Vietnam National University of Agriculture for the development of promising rice varieties, as well as Bach Mai Hospital, Hue Central Hospital and and Cho Ray Hospital.

These three hospitals have promoted the achievements of cooperation with JICA in grant projects and technical cooperation in activities to improve the quality of hospital’s medical services, strengthen the medical system of the hospitals, and improve the quality of medical services. They have since become typical examples of JICA’s Global Health Initiative on strengthening the infectious disease diagnosis and treatment system.
