60 billion VND invested in embankments against landslide in Tra Leng
PSNews – The Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee recently approved a 60 billion VND project to consolidate embankment to protect the Bang La residential area in Tra Leng Commune, Nam Tra My District against landslide.
The project consists of 4 new embankment sections on the Leng River with a total length of 978 meters.
Earlier, the CAND Newspaper had reported on serious flash floods and landslides in Tra Leng Commune in October 2020, wiping out the two villages of Ong De and Tak Pat.
In order to stabilize people’s lives, the authority of Nam Tra My District had consulted local people and experts before building a new resettlement area named Bang La nearby the Leng River.
The Bang La residential area was built by the Leng River in 2021 on an area of 6 hectares as a resettlement area for 40 Bh’noong ethnic minority households whose houses had been completely swept away due to natural disasters.
Currently, the area is able to accommodate 40 more households. Therefore, the construction of the Leng River embankment will protect Bang La residential area from landslides, helping local households to settle down their lives there sustainably.
