All students of Vietnames team win medals at IdPhO 2020

Vietnamese students bagged five medals at the International distributed Physics Olympiad (IdPhO) 2020, with four silver and one bronze.

The silver medalists are Nguyen Khac Hai Long( 12th grader), Trang Dao Cong Minh (12th grader), Vu Ngo Hoang Duong (10th grader), and Le Minh Hoang (11th Grader).

The bronze medal went to Nguyen Le Duc Hoang, a 12th grader from the Hanoi-Amsterdam High School.

Due to the impact of COVID-19 pandemic, the annual International Physics Olympiad (IPhO), which was originally slated to be held in Lithuania, was cancelled.

Thanks to an initiative by the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, an alternative one, which is the IdPhO 2020 was finally organized virtually from December 7-15.

The IdPhO 2020 test format is similar to the annual IPhO. Candidates do their tests under the supervision of observers who were assigned by the organizing committee.

At the IPhO last year, the Vietnamese team won three gold medals and two silvers.
