Dong Nai official dismissed for failures in COVID-19 prevention

After the dismissal, Ms. Huynh Thu Ha is assigned to work at the Culture, Information and Sports Center of Bien Hoa City.
According to the Bien Hoa Municipal People’s Committee, over the past month, as the Chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Hoa An Ward, Ha has not completed her tasks of directing and managing local efforts to prevent and control COVID-19 in the area.
Her irresponsibility has led to the increased number of infections in the locality.
On same day, Chairman of the Bien Hoa Municipal People’s Committee appointed Mr. Duong Minh Sang, Deputy Head of the Interior Division of Bien Hoa City to become the acting Chairman of Hoa An Ward People’s Committee from July 27.
By July 27, Hoa An Ward saw 268 infection cases and nearly 400 F1 cases, the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Bien Hoa City.
The Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control of Dong Nai Province has extended the lockdown in Hoa An Ward to August 1.
