Driver injured as landslides hit Bac Kan-Thai Nguyen highway

Landslides triggered by prolonged heavy downpours flooded many streets on August 29, disrupting traffic and transport and causing havoc for residents.

On the Bac Kan-Thai Nguyen highway, a 10-ton boulder was dislodged from the top of the hill, rolling onto the road where it destroyed vehicles and left one driver injured.
At present, there is a heightened risk of landslides in some areas of the region and signs have been erected on roads to warn residents about the danger.
In Bac Kan city, heavy rains have flooded many roads while floodwaters have inundated the first floor of Bac Kan high school.
Mudslides flowed into the Nguyen Van To street area, causing many people to fall on the slippery road.
Local authorities have urgently taken drastic measures to deal with the incidents and to ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
