Ethnic people builds new life in resettlement village Muong Chien I, Son La
To give up their long-time living place to the Son La hydropower project, local people of Muong Chien village, Muong Chien commune, Quynh Nhai district had to move to resettlement village Muong Chien, Phong Lai, 9 years ago. Thanks to the supports of the State, Party and local authorities as well as local residents, all resettled villagers have land for housing and production.
Dieu Van Chinh, a settled villager said, “The new settlement village is very convenient for travel, There are many effective farming models there for me to learn and follow. After 9 years, my household economy has now become good.”
In recent years, his family has earned millions of VND from farming and ranching.
Lo Van Pao and his family moved to the new village in 2008. The new place has more facilities and better living conditions. School, medical station and other services are all nearby.
When first established, new resettlement village Muong Chien 1 only had 65 households with nearly 400 residents. But now the village has 70 households.
Previously, an absolute majority of the residents of Muong Chien depended on agricultural production and their lives were so difficult. Since moving to the new village, thanks to the investment of the State and Government in infrastructure and public projects as well as support policies for their development of industrial trees, lives of resettled villagers are now much better.
