Fire rips through Hai Phong’s tallest building

Le Quoc Tran, director of the Hai Phong Firefighting Department said the blaze was brought to the attention of fire fighters at 10:30am. Local witnesses said they first spotted thick black smoke flowing from the 26th floor of the SHP Plaza building at 10am.

The local fire brigade and two fire engines were mobilized to the scene to extinguish the blaze. Within minutes, the inferno was brought under control. As yet, there have been no reports of losses to human life or property damage.

The building is located near Lach Trach road, and the fire caused heavy traffic congestion. Up to now, SHP Plaza has been regarded as the tallest building in Hai Phong, with its main investor being VLC Group.
