Five kg of rhino horn seized at southern airport

The customs at Tan Son Nhat international airport in Ho Chi Minh City, in coordination with the police, has seized seven pieces of rhino horn weighing nearly 5 kg.

The airport customs section said on April 16 that the rhino horns, worth over VND6 billion (US$263,940), were discovered in the luggage of two passengers on a flight from Africa to Vietnam.
The two passengers were a 34 year–old woman and a 21 year– old man, who hid the horns in hand luggage, household appliances and speakers.
Custom officials of Tan Son Nhat airport are coordinating with authorised agencies to further investigate the case.
