- Writing contest on fatherland’s seas and islands held for students launched in Nam Dinh
The activity demonstrated the responsibility and sentiment of Hanoi youths for officers, solders and people living, working and studying on the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago of Vietnam, who are safeguarding national sovereignty over our sea and islands.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Viet, Secretary of the Hanoi chapter of the HCYU affirmed that our top priority is currently given to COVID-19 prevention and control. However, the political tasks of the youth organization must be also carried out creatively and effectively.
Youths of capital Hanoi should set an example and take the leading role in launching the “Fund for Vietnamese Sea and Islands” 2020, he said.
While the COVID-19 epidemic is developing complicatedly and universities are still closed, the Hanoi chapter of the HCYU continue to hold fundraising events online, in which donors can still send money through electronic banking platforms.
At the event, officials and employees at agencies of the Hanoi Youth Union donated their one day’s pay to the fund.
The fund was established in 2011, aiming to encourage people to turn their mind and heart to Truong Sa archipelago, while enhancing awareness among all sectors, localities and Vietnamese people at home and abroad of the importance of Vietnam’s sea and islands. |
