As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, Kyocera Corporation hosted its 4th Cultural Exchange Tour to Japan for Vietnamese Children from July 30 to August 5.

For this year’s program, the company invited 12 children from Hanoi, Hung Yen and Hai Phong cities to provide them with firsthand experience of Japanese culture so that they can grow up to become internationally-minded citizens, and help bridge Japan-Vietnam relations in the future, and live prosperous and fruitful lives as leaders in various fields.

The tour included visits to Tokyo, Kyoto, and Shiga, with a variety of programs designed to introduce Japanese culture and everyday life. During their stay, the children learned about Japan’s modern technological developments at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, experienced traditional Japanese culture by visiting Kyoto’s famous Fushimi Inari Taisha, known worldwide as one of the most iconic shrines in Japan, and visited a middle school where they interacted with Japanese students of the same age.

The children also learned about Japan’s culture of monozukuri (manufacturing style) during a factory tour at Kyocera’s Shiga Gamo Plant. For the second half of the tour, the children experienced Japanese life through a three-day home stay with Kyocera Group employees.
