More support given to employees and employers amid COVID-19 pandemic

Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Ministry (MOLISA) Dao Ngoc Dung recently affirmed that a 26-trillion-Dong stimulus package would be disbursed to support employees and employers facing difficulties by COVID-19 pandemic.

The Government has just issued Resolution No. 68/NQ-CP on a number of policies to support employees and employers facing difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Minister of MOLISA Dao Ngoc Dung said, in the context of COVID-19 outbreak, the MOLISA has associated with Ministries, sectors and central agencies to discuss the direction the policies to help people.

The Government also spent 2 working sessions to discuss this matter. In the regular meeting on June 1, the Government officially approved Resolution 68/NQ-CP, which focuses on 2 objects: employees and employers who are deeply affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, mainly workers and direct workers.

The Resolution 68/NQ-CP sets out four basic principles: Timely support and right objects; administrative procedures reduced by 2/3 compared to Resolution 42; ensure the policy is feasible; each object only benefits one policy (except for pregnant women, people who are raising children and children who are infected with COVID-19 or have to be isolated). It adds more beneficiary groups compared to the previous Resolution 42, according to the MOLISA Portal. 

This Resolution also has the policy of supporting to improve skills for employees with funding from the Unemployment Insurance Fund.

Also according to Minister Dao Ngoc Dung, to implement this Resolution, the MOLISA is building the Prime Minister's Decision to guide the implementation it in detail, specifically, remove difficulties at Resolution 42.
