During the holidays, the management board has coordinated with units in the Ba Dinh Historical-Cultural Relic Complex, and authorised agencies of Hanoi to well serve domestic and foreign visitors. Especially, on April 30 and May 1, the management board provided free water and breads for visitors.
President Ho Chi Minh was born on May 19, 1890 in Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district, the central province of Nghe An. He devoted all of his life to the national liberation cause while tirelessly striving for peace and progress in the world.
He led the nation to success in the struggle for national independence and in establishing the Democratic Republic of Vietnam following the August Revolution in 1945. The President passed away in 1969.
The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board has over the past four decades performed well the task of preserving the body of late President Ho Chi Minh.
The mausoleum opened to the public on August 29, 1975, and has welcomed more than 52 million visitors as of 2016. The mausoleum is an important landmark of Hanoi capital city and stands integrated to the political and social history of Vietnam.
