Quang Tri closes border gates along Vietnam - Laos border as coronavirus spreads

The central province of Quang Tri has closed its managed four border gates along the Vietnam - Laos borderline as a measures to prevent an acute pneumonia caused by a new strain of coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

According to Senior Colonel Le Van Phuong, Commander of the Border Guard High Command of Quang Tri Province, the command’s managed four border gates, located in Huong Hoa and Dakrong district, have been closed since February 4.
The border gates are small ones, there are no quarantine systems, posing a high risk of disease infection.
The gates will be closed until the acute pneumonia caused by 2019-nCoV is no longer a concern, according to the local authority
Senior Colonel Phuong also said that the border guard force will strengthen inspection and control of all border-crossing trails in the province and take strong measures to prevent illegal border crossing.
