“Red Sunday” – voluntary blood donation campaign launched in Hanoi
PSNews-A blood donation campaign called “Red Sunday 2017” was launched by in Hanoi on January 8 by the Tien Phong (Vanguard) Newspaper, the National Committee for Traffic Safety, and the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion.
Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh attended and participated in the street parade held during the campaign.
Together with Hanoi, the largest-scale campaigns to encourage voluntarily donating blood were also organized in 25 different cities and provinces nationwide with the participation of students, especially members of local Youth Union chapters of Police academies and colleges.

Various celebrities and artists, including Xuan Bac, Miss Vietnam Ngoc Han and Do My Linh, Huyen My and Thanh Tu, also participated in the event.
Addressing the event, Mr. Truong Hoa Binh applauded the significance of the “Red Sunday” campaign. He added that the demand for blood for medical treatment is on the rise, requiring authorities at various levels, sectors and professional agencies to promote voluntary blood donation while ensuring safety in blood transfusion and rendering good support for blood donors, contributing to bettering healthcare for people.
