A medical robot called Phenikaa-X was sent to Bac Giang, a current epidemic center in Vietnam, to support the province in the fight against COVID-19.

This robot developed by scientists at the Phenikaa University can automatically disinfect pandemic-hit areas.

The robot uses both Ultraviolet C and chemicals to kill bacteria, reducing the spread of disease. It can move flexibly, can be controlled remotely or pre-programmed for a certain sterilization route.

Additionally, the robot can deliver certain necessities or monitor isolated patients through its monitoring cameras.

The robot is fully self-propelled and can avoid collisions by using the LiDAR technology. It is integrated with artificial intelligence to detect people without wearing facemasks and remind them of wearing masks, measure body temperature and do various other jobs.

Over the past time, students at the University of Phenikaa have participated actively in pandemic prevention and control activities.

They sent 10,000 drop shields to 30 localities, especially to Bac Ninh and Bac Giang. They also sent 10,000 bottle of Oresol water to medical workers working on the frontline of the fight against the pandemic.
