Three waterway projects in Mekong Delta proposed

The first is the upgrading of an 86km stretch of the Ham Luong River to allow passage of vessels of up to 5,000 DWT.
The project also involves construction of a transit port and a 2000 sq.m warehouse by 2020. In 2030, one more transit port and 4,000 sq.m of warehouse will be built. Total cost is estimated around VND500 billion (US$21.9 million).
Meanwhile, the construction of the My Thuan ferry port in Tien Giang province and that of Tan Chau Port in An Giang province are expected to cost VND20 billion and VND25 billion respectively.
