The arrival of these vital parts of the metro line marks the third out of a total of 17 trains which are due to be imported and then transported to Ho Chi Minh City from Kasado Port in Japan, ahead of undergoing a trial run of the route.
After being unloaded from the port, the three-carriage trains will subsequently be transported by truck along a 26km route on May 11 to the Long Binh Depot in District 9.
The next four trains are set to arrive in HCM City in June and July.
The first train docked at Ho Chi Minh’s Khanh Hoi Port on October 8, 2020, aboard the vessel Bayani.
The southern city’s first metro line will consist of a total of 14 stations along a 19.7km route and will include an underground section of 2.6km and 17.1km of elevated tracks.
