Typhoon Doksuri caused 4 deaths, 1.3 million households suffering power cut
PSNews- Typhoon Doksuri (storm no.10) making a landfall to several Central provinces on September 15 has caused a huge human and material loss, according to report by the Steering Committee for National Disaster Prevention and Control.

During September 14 and 15, the typhoon caused heavy rains, which were gauged 150-200 mm in provinces from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri, and 100-200mm in Nghe An, Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam.
Particularly, rainfalls in some places reached record levels at 1 pm of September 15, for example Huong Quang of Ha Tinh (196 mm) and Tan Hoa of Quang Binh (345 mm).

Implementing the directions of the Prime Minister on ensuring safety for people in the typhoon, as of September 15, authorities of provinces from Nghe An to Quang Tri managed to evacuate nearly 34.000 households or 116.525 people.
As a result, the number of deaths caused by one of the most powerful storms that have ever hit Vietnam in the last decade was so small.
To date, the 4 dead people were in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Binh and Thua Thien – Hue while 8 others were reportedly injured.

The typhoon also ruined and flooded thousands of houses, and caused great damages to the power grids in the Central provinces.
On the afternoon of September 15, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung arrived in Quang Binh and Ha Tinh to direct disaster relief operations.
