Vietnam Airlines receives the 5th Airbus A350
Right after receiving the plane from Airbus, Vietnam Airlines started operating it from 1-11-2016 on the domestic route Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City.
On the purchase contract signed between Vietnam Airlines and Airbus, the plane maker will hand over the remaining numbers of the total 14 Airbus A350s to the Vietnamese carrier by mid-2019.
Currently, the carrier is using A350 planes for the international routes between Vietnam and Paris (France), Incheon (South Korea), Shanghai (China), Osaka (Japan) and domestic routes between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The fleet of new planes with modern equipment is one of the important factors helping Vietnam Airlines ensure the quality of its 4-star service and strive to becomea 5-star quality carrier in the near future.
Besides, this is also the first plane on the sale and lease deal between the Vietnamese carrier and global plane leasing company Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE).
Under the agreement signed with the DAE, Vietnam Airlines will sell and then lease A350-900 planes, the other two will be delivered from Airbus by late 2016 and early 2017.
