Vietnam and Japan promote bilateral economic, cultural and tourism exchange

A seminar on cultural exchange between a Japanese economic, cultural and tourism delegation and Vietnamese businesses and localities took place on January 13 in Da Nang.

The event saw the presence of Deputy  Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue and Mr. Nikai Toshihiro, Secretary General of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) of Japan and President of the Japan - Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Association.

Speaking at the event, Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue welcomed the the largest-ever Japanese delegation to Vietnam. He said that the visit took place at a time when the Vietnam - Japan strategic partnership is developing strongly, comprehensively and effectively.

The Government of Vietnam is constantly improving the investment and business environment, creating favorable conditions for Japanese enterprises to invest in Vietnam. Regarding the labor cooperation, the two sides should have necessary policies and measures to ensure the legitimate interests of Vietnamese workers in Japan, contributing to promoting the bilateral cooperation.

The Deputy PM hoped that the two sides would work together to further strengthen the close friendship and connection and promote economic, investment and trade cooperation so that Japan becomes not only the leading investor but also the best investor in Vietnam. The two sides should also speed up the institutionalization of policies, promote labor cooperation, people-to-people exchange and tourism.

Mr. Nikai Toshihiro emphasized that the ideas and proposals of Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue coincide with the Government and the National Diet of Japan and Japanese people as the Japanese side has been seeking comprehensive cooperation with Vietnam. The results of this series of seminars and forums would serve as important orientations for the two sides’ agencies, organizations and businesses to promote their cooperation in the future, he stressed.

On the same day, Deputy PM Vuong Dinh Hue, Mr. Nikai Toshihiro and leaders of some ministries, branches and localities of Vietnam witnessed a ceremony to announce a direct air route between the Vietnamese localities of Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City and Japanese localities of Nagoya, Fukuoka, Kagoshima, according to which Vietjet Air will conduct direct fights between the localities of the two countries in 2020.
