About 700,000 youths join 2023 summer volunteer programs in HCMC
PSNews - 700,000 youths and other people are expected to participate in the Ho Chi Minh City 2023 summer volunteer campaign which was launched on Sunday.
Scheduled to run through August 6, the campaign marks its the 30th anniversary and the key activities will take place from Ho Chi Minh City to the provinces of the Southeast, the Southwest, the South-Central Coast, and the Central Highlands.
According to the organizing board, this summer volunteer program marks the 30th anniversary of growth of summer volunteer programs, towards the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), the 50th anniversary of the day Saigon-Gia Dinh was officially named after the great Vietnamese national leader, President Ho Chi Minh (July 2, 1976 - 2016).
On Sunday morning, a number of main activities began, including the opening of a self-defense instruction class for children, gift presentation for disadvantaged people, and meeting the volunteers who will embark on summer voluntary missions in Laos.
