Da Nang – Ly Son high-speed ferry service launched

The very first high-speed ferry service connecting Da Nang City with Ly Son island was officially launched in March.

On the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Quang Ngai Province and the Liberation Day of Da Nang City, a high-speed ferry service connecting Da Nang city with Ly Son island off coast the central province of Quang Ngai was launched on March 29 by Phu Quoc Express JSC.

This is a new tourism product of the Da Nang city authority, aiming to diversify and recover local tourism activities after a hiatus due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ticket prices range from VND590,000 up to VND720,000.

The high-speed ferry, named Trung Trac, will be used to transport passengers on the newly-launched Da Nang-Ly Son waterway tourism route. 

The ship is capable of accommodating nearly 600 passengers, with this reducing the travel time from Da Nang to Ly Son island off coast the central province of Quang Ngai to just over two hours.

Phu Quoc Express JSC plans to run the first ferry on April 9, with a frequency of four turns a week, at 8am on Tuesday and Saturday from Da Nang’s Han River Port, and at 2pm on Wednesday and Sunday from Ly Son island.

Ticket prices range from VND590,000 up to VND720,000, equivalent to between 25USD and 31USD, for economy class and VND900,000, equal to 39USD for VIP class.

Vice Chairman of the Da Nang Municipal People’s Committee Tran Phuoc Son said that, the waterway route will be an attractive tourism product which will fully contribute to strengthening tourism development links between the two localities.
