Hanoi on August 18 began the second phase of mass COVID-19 testing targeting 13 high-risk groups of people through the RT-PCR method.

 13 high-risk groups of people in Hanoi are being tested for COVID-19 through the RT-PCR method.

According to the capital’s Department of Health, the 13 high-risk groups include shipper, wet market traders, supermarket and trade center salespeople, home grocery sellers, petrol pump attendants, and industrial park drivers.

Security guards, construction workers stuck in Hanoi, staff at drugstores, people working in retail services, on-duty people at quarantine checkpoints, COVID-19 control forces, and garbage collectors are also subject to the test.

The purpose of the move is to early detect and separate all F0 cases from the wider community in order to halt potential outbreaks.

The capital completed the first phase of mass testing at high-risk areas in 30 districts from August 10 to August 15. As many as 313,010 people were tested, of whom 29 were infected with the virus.
