HCM City uses 30 AI robots to answer people’s calls about COVID-19

PSNews – Since July 30, the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Department of Information and Communications has used 30 AI robots to receive calls from people regarding the COVID-19 pandemic through hotline 1022.

 The department will coordinate with the City’s Department of Health to increase the capacity of the hotline so as to reply 100% of people’s queries.

So far, channel 2 of the hotline received 19,767 calls, of which, the AI robots have handled over 12,000 calls, accounting for 60%. The IA robots has helped ease network congestion.

In order to improve the capacity of hotline 1022, the department plans to increase the number of AI robots up to 300 and the number of call center staff to 40-50 during peak time.

In addition to channel 2, hotline 1022 also offers channel 3, connecting doctors and local people for health consultation. The channel has received 5,728 calls so far. On average, doctors consult 636 people per day through this hotline.

The HCMC Department of Information and Communications also affirmed that all calls to channels 2 and 3 of hotline 1022 are free of charge.

In the coming time, the department will coordinate with the City’s Department of Health to increase the capacity of the hotline so as to reply 100% of people’s queries.
