HCMC to launch helicopter services
PSNews - The helicopter services is expected to go into operation in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the liberation of the southern region and national reunification (April 30),
A pilot flight for a new helicopter tour known as "Ho Chi Minh City From Above" in conjunction with emergency services was launched by the Ho Chi Minh Municipal Department of Tourism in coordination with Military Hospital 175 and the Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company (VNH South) in April.
The tour using a EC-255 helicopter is scheduled to go into operation on the occasion of the 47th anniversary of the liberation of the southern region and national reunification (April 30), right after the city launches the “Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City” program.
The tour will include short flights (30-45 minutes) over the centre of HCMC and Can Gio District; and mid-range flights (60 minutes) from HCM City to the “Canh dong bat tan” (Endless Field) Tourism Area in the Mekong Delta province of Long An.
175 Military Hospital will provide the helicopter parking area and healthcare services for passengers while Southern Vietnam Helicopter Company ensures flight safety in compliance with regulations as required by the Ministry of National Defense.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Director of the HCMC Tourism Department, the tour was a new and special product set to improve travel experience and attract foreign visitors after Vietnam reopened inbound tourism from March 15.
