International Yoga Day 2022 celebrated at Hoan Kiem pedestrian streets
The 8th International Day of Yoga themed “Yoga for Humanity” was held on June 18 at Hoan Kiem Lake walking street zone.
Shri Pranay Verma, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam highlighted the significance of the event for India and Vietnam as both countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties (1972-2022).
Vietnam has always been an important partner of India in terms of activities aimed at promoting and celebrating International Day of Yoga since its recognition. The widespread love for Yoga in Vietnam has brought about a strong cultural connection and people-to-people exchange between the two nations
The event is set to take place across eight provinces and cities nationwide including Hanoi, Da Nang, Vinh Phuc, Thanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, Thua Thien-Hue and Quang Nam.
Yoga is a 5,000-year-old practice from India that combines physical, mental and spiritual activities to achieve the harmony of body and mind.
Recognizing its benefits and popularity, the United Nations General Assembly on December 11, 2014 proclaimed June 21 every year as the International Day of Yoga.
