The seven facilities include Vietnam National University-Hanoi, which is in the 601-800 rankings, Ton Duc Thang University (601-800), Hanoi University of Science and Technology (601-800), and Phenikaa University (801-1000).

Meanwhile, three new Vietnamese higher education institutions are among the list, namely Duy Tan University (601-800), National Economics University (601-800), and FPT University (801-1000).

This marks the fourth year that Times Higher Education (THE) has released the ranking to assess universities against the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN. The purpose of the SDGs is to call for global action to build a peaceful, fair, and prosperous society as it measures the impacts and contribution of educational institutions on social development, human development, and environmental protection.

This year, the Impacts Rankings considered a total of 1,406 education institutions from 106 countries and territories globally.
