The Government of Vietnam has just issued Resolution No.32 dated March 15, 2022 on visa exemption for citizens from 13 countries.

Visa-waiver countries are German, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Belarus.

Under the policy, citizens from the aforesaid nations will not have to apply for a visa if their duration of stay does not exceed 15 days since the date of arrival regardless of passport type and entry purpose, proving that they satisfy all conditions as prescribed by Vietnamese law.

The visa exemption policy for citizens of the above countries will be carried out for a three-year period running from March 15, 2022 to the end of March 14, 2025, and will be considered for extension in accordance with Vietnamese law.

Besides, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will review, evaluate and recommend to the Government the extension, suspension or termination of the unilateral visa exemption policy specified in this Resolution.

As a result of effective implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign launched on March 8, 2021, the Government decided to switch away from zero-COVID policy to safe and flexible adaptation to the pandemic to move toward the gradual recovery of economic activities.
