15th NA to select 50 high-ranking personnel

The first session of the 15th National Assembly (NA), which is scheduled to open on July 20, will elect or approve the list of officials holding high-ranking positions at the State, the NA, and the Government. 

In particular, at the first session, the new deputies of the 15th NA will vote 50 officials introduced by the Party Central Committee to high-ranking State, Government and NA positions in the new term.

The legislature will particularly vote or approve the positions of State President, Prime Minister, NA Chairperson, Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court, Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy, Auditor General of the State Audit, NA Vice Chairpersons, members of the NA Standing Committee, chairpersons of NA Committees, Deputy Prime Ministers, several ministers, and other members of the Government.

Earlier, on March 2021, at the second plenary meeting of the 13th-tenure Party Central Committee, the Party Central Committee strongly agreed that it is necessary to complete the election and approval of the leading positions of State, Government and NA agencies in line with the requirements of the 13th Party Congress’s Resolution.

The Party Central Committee also voted on the list of candidates for the posts of State President, Prime Minister and National Assembly Chairperson, and gave opinions on 24 leading positions of the State agencies.

The 14th NA at the 11th session selected or approved the appointment of 27 positions. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc was elected as State President; Mr. Pham Minh Chinh was elected as Prime Minister; and Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue was elected as new Chairman of the National Assembly.

The Party Central Committee introduced 23 additional personnel to other high-ranking positions for the 2021-2026 term.
