2022 ASEAN+ Police Music Festival symbolizes friendship of regional police forces
Within the framework of the 2022 ASEAN+ Police Music Festival, an open-air concert took place on the evening of July 10 at King Ly Thai To Square, Hanoi.
The event was participated in by hundreds of performers who were police officers from regional countries and the host.
Present at the event were Deputy State President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, Minister of Public Security General To Lam as well as leaders from the Ministry of Public Security, other ministries and agencies, and representatives from Embassies of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, China and Japan. A large number of local people and international visitors also gathered in the musical event.
The night was begun with an impressive performance of the Vietnamese Police Musical Group. Under the direction of Meritorious Artist Kim Xuan Hieu and Major Nguyen Tien Dung, the Orchestra of the Vietnamese People’s Police Force with a variety of trumpets, clarinets and saxophones performed a number of famous musical pieces of not only the host countries but also Japan, China as well as ASEAN Anthem, showing the Vietnamese people’s friendship and unity to other ASEAN members as well as regional countries.
Especially, audiences were very interested in mono-cord guitar and T’rung (Vietnamese traditional guitar) solos performed by Vietnamese police officers.
The Myanmar Police Musical Group with 17 officers brought to the show festive folk music featuring their traditional customs and practices while the Chinese Police Musical Group entertained audiences with four grand musical performances.
The Japanese Police Music Group had only six performers but it made audiences moved by famous musical pieces about soldiers.

Meanwhile, the Lao Police Musical Group got much support from Vietnamese audiences as Lao police officers performed several Vietnamese famous songs with Lao traditional music instruments as well as Lao songs in praise of Lao police forces. The Philippine Police Music Group performed the Philippine traditional festive music, featuring the optimism of the Filipinos.
The Ceremonial Troupe of the Vietnam People’s Army participated in the program as a guest, but it brought a large number of artists to the program. At the night, the troupe performed two well-known music masterpieces, displaying the heroic and victorious tradition of the Vietnam People’s Army.
The night was closed with two Vietnamese folk music pieces, which were jointly performed by some 130 musicians from the eight participating musical groups.
The night was also the last event of the 2022 ASEAN+ Police Music Festival hosted by the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam. The festival was generally described as a venue of friendship, unity and cooperation among police forces of regional countries.
