Vietnam considers Japan to be one of its most important partners, President Tran Dai Quang told Shui Chi Abe, the Governor of Japan’s Nagono prefecture at an October 24 meeting in Hanoi.

In his remarks, President Quang also said Vietnam cares about expanding its relations with localities in Japan, including Nagono.

He called on Japanese investors to do more business in Vietnam, especially in manufacturing, mechanics, and support industries.

He urged Nagono prefecture to recruit more Vietnamese workers and support Vietnam in its agricultural development and personnel training for high-tech agriculture.
For his part, Shui Chi Abe said there is plenty of room for cooperation between Nagano and Vietnam , noting that only about 40 businesses from the prefecture are investing in Vietnam .

He said he hopes through this visit, more Japanese companies will pour investment in Vietnam , especially in agriculture and support industry.

Regarding the agricultural development model at Kawakami village, he said his prefecture has received many Vietnamese students to learn about clean, safe and high-quality vegetable cultivation and production.

He expressed his hope that the prefecture will export fruits and vegetables to Vietnam in the future and sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in this field.
