“According to information from the Embassy of Vietnam in Malaysia, representatives of the embassy and lawyers visited Doan Thi Huong on May 18 and 24 to encourage Huong and gather more arguments for the trial on May 30”, said Le Thi Thu Hang.
During the meetings, Huong said she was good in both physical and metal terms.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will work closely with relevant agencies in Vietnam, the Embassy of Vietnam in Malaysia, and lawyers to protect the interests of Doan Thi Huong in the coming trial,” the MoFA spokeswoman emphasized.
Doan Thi Huong, 28, from the northern province of Nam Dinh, was arrested on February 15 at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, following the death of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea’s citizen Kim Chol.
