Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has asked the Justice Ministries of Vietnam and Italy to further bolster their cooperation, especially in personnel training as a contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

He made the statement at a reception for Italian Minister of Justice Andrea Orlando in Hanoi on October 27 during which he affirmed the Government of Vietnam's readiness to support the two ministries’ cooperation, adding that the country considers the building of institutions as a breakthrough in the country’s development strategy.

With special attention paid to fine-tuning institutions, the Government of Vietnam has directed the enforcement of law in reality, while creating favourable conditions for socio-economic development and serving the people and enterprises, Phuc told his guest.

The PM also highlighted the significant role of the justice sector during that process.

He proposed that Italy advises the EU to soon sign and approve the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EUVFTA) and expressed his hope that both nations will boost their economic, trade and investment ties, thus further raising two-way trade to a higher level.

Vietnam always supports Italian investors to do long-term business in the country and effectively carry out projects, especially in areas of Italy’s strengths and Vietnam’s demand, he stated.

Orlando in turn said that during his working visit, a memorandum of understanding on bilateral cooperation will be signed, laying a foundation for the effective partnership in justice.

The Italian official affirmed that the strengthening of justice cooperation will help boost partnership among businesses from both sides.
