President upbeat about growing Vietnam- RoK strategic partnership
At a reception for visiting Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea, Ms. Kang Kyung-wha, in Hanoi on March 9, President Quang called on both sides to effectively implement the existing cooperative mechanisms in foreign affairs, security, and defense.
The Vietnamese State leader praised the “Miracle on the Han River” and congratulated the RoK on its recent socio-economic development and the success of the Pyeongchange Winter Olympics 2018 hosted by the country.
He also underlined the need to deepen bilateral cooperative ties in line with their strategic cooperative partnership. Quang expected that the Republic of Korea continues its strong support for Vietnam in capacity building for law enforcement forces at sea, developing science and marine economy, and coordinating in issues of mutual concerns at regional and global forums.
He also affirmed Vietnam's continued efforts to boost reform, deeper integration, industrialization and modernization, and ensure macro-economic stability and maintain a high growth rate.
Vietnam and the Republic of Korea share common goals and interests in maintaining stable peace and security and boosting international integration and economic growth, he added.
Quang said he hopes the RoK facilitates Vietnamese agro-forestry and seafood products to enter the Korean market, push two-way trade and continues providing ODA for Vietnam.
The Korean diplomat told her host that she is very glad to see economic and trade cooperation between the two countries thriving over recent years while describing the influx of Korean business groups and companies into Vietnam as a vivid manifestation of cooperation between the two countries. She noted that her talk with Vietnamese Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh was a success and that both sides are actively preparing for the Vietnam visit by President Moon Jae-in.
