Russian President Putin offers condolences on the passing of President Tran Dai Quang

Russian Presidrnt Vladimir Putin sent a message to General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, offering condolences on the passing of President Tran Dai Quang.

According to Kremlin.ru, the President of Russia noted that as head of state and while holding other high-ranking positions Tran Dai Quang won the well-deserved respect of his compatriots and high international prestige.

He accomplished a great deal for the sake of strengthening the country’s security and defending the interests of Vietnam on the global scene.

Vladimir Putin praised Tran Dai Quang’s personal contribution to expanding the comprehensive partnership relations between Russia and Vietnam, as well as mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation in various areas.

The Russian leader noted that he met with Tran Dai Quang on numerous occasions. His political wisdom, far-sightedness and the ability to delve into the essence of the most complicated issues evoked the most sincere respect.

Vladimir Putin conveyed words of sincere sympathy to the President’s family and friends, the Government and all the people of Vietnam.

Tran Dai Quang, born in 1956, Member of the Politburo, and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam died of serious illness at 10.5 am on September 21, 2018, according to an official source from the Board for to the Board of Healthcare Services for Senior Officials.
