At the invitation of General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and President Tran Dai Quang, Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachith is paying an official visit to Vietnam from December 19-21.
This is the second official Vietnam visit of the Lao leader during his tenure (2016-2021). It aims to reconfirm the Lao consistent foreign policy to attach special importance to preserving and promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

The visit of Lao Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith is taking place at a time when the Vietnam-Laos relations have been growing in all fields.

During the visit, in addition to official meetings and talks with leaders of the Party and State of Vietnam, Lao Party General Secretary and President Bounnhang Vorachith will attend a ceremony in Hanoi to close the Viet Nam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year 2017.
