Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Ngoc Khue and other delegates took tours to the four hotels designated to the 36th ASEAN Summit in Danang city, namely Furama, Sheraton, Pulman and Nalod. They worked with the hotels’ managers on the arrangement of duty rooms for health workers, quarantine rooms, epidemic prevention and control plans, and sanitation issues in service rooms.
Later the same day, the delegation had a working session with leaders of the Danang Municipal People’s Committee and the city’s health sector to discuss the best approaches to ensure health for delegates, guests and service workers at the ASEAN 2020 meetings, amid complicated developments of Covid-19.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health sent a dispatch to the National ASEAN 2020 Committee on Covid-19 prevention and control.
The Ministry of Health will also set up medical teams, consisting of two doctors (specialized in cardiology and emergency cases), two nurses, one driver and one ambulance, who will be ready for any emergency cases during the ASEAN meetings.
The Ministry of Health has already established 45 quick response teams against Covid-19. These teams are fully equipped with medications and equipment for emergency resuscitation (motorized breathing device, oxygen, drugs and fluids for transfusion), personal protective equipment and disinfectant chemicals.
The team will be ready 24/24h to take action by order of the Ministry of Health, the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control, and the ASEAN 2020 Sub-committee for Security and Health.
